I found a beautiful, antique frame at Canterbury Home in downtown Sylvania, Ohio, and was determined to create a fabulous pet bed from its' inspirational form. The original gold leaf was still evident as I sanded through years of paint and neglect. Adding a cedar wood floor, reinforced base, and fabulous finials as feet transformed a "found" object into the perfect pet bed. Yet, there was still something missing...so I added porcelain bunnies in each corner of the bed, a sumptuously soft "throw" in pink minkie fabric, a bit of purple ribbon, and my cat "Marcus" to further test the pet beds' appeal. Here is the result along with photos of the finer details:
"Marcus" was gleefully happy, and slept peacefully for hours, snuggling into the soft pink material and hugging the bunny. What can I say, other than "Marcus" confirmed my suspicions. Cats sleep well when they feel the security and softness of a comfortable bed, and apparently enjoy cozying up to a wonderful bed buddy!
